The How

the how

New York City is a global village, and The How, composed of artists from Uzbekistan, Jordan, Israel, Turkey, Kazakhstan and the UK commits to creating theater of, by, and for New York.  By performing in repertory, The How gives its artists a chance to go deep, and gives its audiences a chance to know its work more intimately.

The How creates theater to be performed throughout the year, and don't miss their upcoming performance, I Am The Wind, at UNRULY May 21st & 23rd!

I Am the Wind, By the Norwegian playwright Jon Fosse, Directed by Will Hand, Performed by Akmal Rakhimov, Polina Ionina, and Lucie Vítková.

Two strangers meet in the midst of beautiful desolation. Can the vastness push them closer together, or will it tear them apart? Immense and immediate, the How invites you to a night of intimate intensity.

Lucie Vítková is a composer, improviser and performer (accordion, harmonica, voice and tap dance) from the Czech Republic, 2017 Herb Alpert Awards in Arts nominee in category of Music. Her compositions focus on sonification (compositions based on abstract models derived from physical objects), while in her improvisation practice explores characteristics of discrete spaces through the interaction between sound and movement.
